Headroom inside the cabin is 6.5 feet and under the boom clearance is 7 feet, so no worries about a knock on the head while standing in the cockpit. Stargazer has a shoal draft keel which allows it to get through the shallow channels of Southwest Florida and the Bahamas. For extra pointing ability in deeper water a special swing keel doubles this depth. Stargazer can sleep 7 comfortably in the cabin. On the technical side, the Pearson 36-2 was first produced in 1985 with production ending in 1990. Stargazer has been entirely refit as of December 2008. The refit was intended to put the boat back into better than new condition and features several upgrades to the original Pearson, including: New Navy Awlgrip Topsides, New Windlass, New Air Conditioning, New Electrical Panels and Wiring, New Engine Wiring, LED Lighting inside and out, New Auto Pilot and ST40 Raymarine Electronics, New Chart Plotter, New High Amp Alternator, New Fuel Fitler Configuration, New Interior Varnish, New Exterior Woodwork and Lifelines, New Sails, New Canvas, New Hot Water Heater, New Water Pressure System, New Sink and Shower Fittings, New Head and Holding Tank, New Stuffing Box and Drive Saver, New Battery Configuration with Isolated House, Engine and Refer Batteries, and New Aluminum Toe Rail.
She displaces 15,850 lbs with a keel weighing 6,550 lbs. Stargazer is hull number 22. Her designed hull speed is 7.29 knots with a sail area of 660 square feet. The rig height is 52 feet above the waterline. The PHRF handicap rating for racing is 129.
The value of a well cared for 36-2 is about $85k and we value the newly refit boat with its upgrades at $150k.
